Some things you don't mind cleaning every week, and then other things...well, they go a little longer between cleanings! Especially if it's things your maid service doesn't usually clean. Here are three cleaning tasks to schedule for this month that probably have put off in the past.
Even though getting them done takes a little effort and time, you'll be glad you did!
Wash (All of) the Curtains.
When we think about cleaning curtains, we think about the ones hanging on the windows, but you can also use this opportunity to take care of shower curtains. When you wash your window curtains, throw in your out shower curtain as well.
Pick up a new plastic liner for your shower, too; to get the entire shower extra clean!
Clean the Blinds
As long as the curtains are getting washed, it's not a bad idea to go ahead and tackle the blinds, too. You probably dust them off fairly frequently, but sometimes a deep, thorough clean is in order. To keep from ruining your vinyl blinds, open them up most of the way, so that there's only a little bit of space between each slat.
Regardless of the blinds you use (unless they're wood!), you can soak them in a bathtub with warm water and a little bit of dishsoap. Then rinse and let dry before you hang them back up.
Replace Shelf Liners
Shelf liners, despite our tendency to put up with them, tend to have fairly short lives before showing some age. Ripping, tearing, discoloration, dirtiness, and just dated designs all become apparently within a year or two of putting in shelf liners, especially in the cabinets and drawers you use most.
Even though it takes a little time, putting in liners isn't too hard, and the effect will make you happy!
